GETEGRA International Workshops (GIW) are biannual. The first one, named Agreement, was devoted to the discussion of agreement in natural languages and it was held in Recife – Brazil, on February 6th-7th, 2014. The second edition, Nominals,devoted to the study of the nouns, was held on March 17th – 18th, 2016, in Recife – Brazil. This third edition, Adjuncts, will also be held in Recife on March 22nd – 23rd, 2018.
GETEGRA is the initials for Grupo de Estudos em Teoria da Gramática (Group of studies in theory of grammar), a research group composed by professors, graduate and undergraduate students from different Universities in the Northeast of Brazil. The main Brazilian universities involved in the group are Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and Universidade Federal da Bahia. The main topic of interest and research of the GETEGRA members is the syntax of natural languages in the generative framework. Besides of promoting the development of research on the syntax of natural languages (mainly on Brazilian Portuguese), the members are engaged in encouraging students to develop researches on the generative perspective, and on formal linguistic in general.
